Who are we?
Scotch & Soda Amsterdams Blauw is an ambitious young denim project that draws inspiration from American denim aesthetics. Next to that we focus on details like how the Japanese have taught us and it gives us that tongue in cheek appeal. Nevertheless we are Dutch and we are in the denim capital of the world, Amsterdam. We’re consistently inspired by our great city which allows us to be more free in our approach of things. We want to play the maverick card and be the new and fresh alternative for the Denim establishment. We are going to portray the Scotch & Soda Amsterdams Blauw collection as THE CHALLENGER brand. This allows us to be more daring and surprising.
Amsterdam Blue Denim Contest
In order to get this new Blue liquid flowing we made 150 unwashed denims in Italy. These denims are worn by all sales people and denim people in the offices. Why? Well, denim gets nicer when it ages and tells a story: ‘The best denim you make yourself by wearing it’. And as we all wear the same denim for the next 6 months we create and are a group.
In this blog we will keep you up to date about the personal denim journey of the 150 denims in this project and you will see their transformation. After 6 months the outcome of this denim journey will be shown during BBB in a sort of gallery way. This will be an inspiration for people, future washes & looks, it will smell amazing and the best of all, we have a story to tell. Stay tuned!
